Personal Projects

I'm a curious person, and believe the best way to continue learning is to continue building.  Here are some recent projects.

Bryapp

A tool app built for me that solves life's little problems that tech companies don't want to solve:

  1. Find out when everyone can hang out, quickly and easily
  2. Share photos with everyone, after they hung out
  3. Split checks with just a scan, and automate collection and payments through venmo
  4. Tell me when there are enough good weather hours in a day that I should turn off my climate control and open the window

Partial tech stack: Ruby on Rails, Flask, ChatGPT API, Twilio, Open-Meteo, Google API, Google OAuth

Status: Currently in alpha (become my friend and I might invite you!)

Viddyo

Built from scratch a family home video portal that uses AI to upscale home VHS recordings, tag family members, and enable a searchable, password-protected portal for extended family.

Partial tech stack: OpenCV, TensorFlow, Python, Flask, FFmpeg, React

Status: Currently in alpha (for personal family use only)

Hellometer

Launched a a customer onboarding platform for a Y-Combinator S20 AI/Computer Vision startup.  Standardized first 40 days after a customer's order, inclusive of hardware procurement, configuration, delivery, onboarding, and automated customer outreach.

Tech stack: Kissflow (low code workflow platform)

Status: Launched and used internally at Hellometer

Actionist

Designed and engineered the Actionist platform, which increased civic engagement by driving voter calls to elected officials. Actionist.org hosted over 500 action alert campaigns created by both individual activists and established advocacy groups.

Tech Stack: Ruby on Rails, Google Civic API

Status: Launched and shut down after supporting 500 action alert campaigns
